SpectraLayers Pro 13 from Steinberg is another major upgrade to SpectraLayers Pro. According to Steinberg, SpectraLayers Pro 13 adds powerful new post-production options and workflow enhancements that span the entire application. The Unmix Sound Effects module separates short sounds from continuous environmental and ambient background sounds, such as wind, crowd, traffic, and nature.

The new Ambience Heal module automatically fill empty spaces in the audio spectrum left by unmixing and cut-to operations. The new Reconstruct module resynthesizes selected spectral data. It analyzes and reconstructs tones (by tracking before and after selections), transients (by tracking above and below selections), and noise.

The new Attenuate module attenuates relatively high-amplitude content within selections, based on the maximum spectral power of the surrounding content. The Voice DeClick module removes unwanted mouth noises, such as lip smacks and tongue clicks.

The Unmix Two Voices module automatically separates two voices without having to register voice profiles. The Voice DeCrosstalk module separates non-target voices (background or foreground) from the primary voice, even when they are overlapping.

A Transfer Brush allows you to nondestructively shift content between source and destination layers. Another useful tool is an AI-based pattern finder which will search your audio file for sounds which are similar to the one that you have specified.

There are numerous modules included in SpectraLayers Pro 13 for unmixing your source material. Included are: Unmix Crowd Noise, Unmix Instrument, Unmix Chorus, Unmix Drums, Unmix Noisy Speech, Unmix Multiple Voices, Unmix Levels, Unmix Multichannel Content, Unmix Mid/Side, and Unmix Transcription.

The Unmix Song module can separate your source into Vocals, Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano, Sax & Brass, and Other stems.

The Unmix Components module will separate your content into tone, noise, and transient component layers. The improved Unmix Multiple Voices module can register unique voice profiles to extract two or more voices to their own independent layers with superior results. Other AI-based tools include an Improved Voice Denoiser, Improved Clip Repair, De-esser, Ambience Matching, EQ Matching, Reverb Reduction, Hum Reduction, Clip Repair, De-Bleed, and improved Healing.

SpectraLayers Pro 13 includes numerous workflow improvements, including the ability to edit multiple layers at once, improved cut to.../copy to..., improved selection editing where active selections can be resized directly on the spectrograph just by dragging their edges, and improved frequency, harmonics, and transient selections.

Significant improvements to the interface include a new Modules Panel which allows you to customize the interface to your preferences. You can even expand the area of the spectrogram by selecting the Compact Panels View, which condenses the right side of the interface into columns of icons with their controls remaining accessible at all times.

SpectraLayers Pro 13 includes VST3 plugin support as well as ARA 2 technology which allows you to launch SpectraLayers directly into your Pro Tools, Cubase, Nuendo or other ARA-supporting DAW timelines.
